CBRE Places Coworking Space NOW in Beato 1904 Building
CBRE, the world’s leading real estate consulting company, has placed NOW_No Office Work in the Beato 1094 Building, in Lisbon. The 2,000 sqm coworking spacewill welcome startups, freelancers and digital nomads, who will have the opportunity to develop their projects in an environment that stimulates collaboration and entrepreneurship.
Located in one of Lisbon’s upcoming areas, next to the Beato Creative Hub, this building has two main facades, to the south and north, which provide access to Rua da Manutenção and Rua do Grilo, respectively, from different street levels. To the east of Beato 1904 there is a vacant plot of land, and to the west it borders another building.
The rehabilitationof the property was done by the architectural design firm Promontório, which ensured a diversified layout that respects the characteristics and specificities of the building, by recovering and restoring the main architectural elements, in an area that is rapidly developing.
Lisbon has been increasingly embracing new concepts when it comes to shared work spaces. Considering the growing number of entrepreneurs and startups, NOW's new space will allow companies from different sectors to work together in a shared office, which will certainly foster creativity and a collaborative environment.
Fernando Mendes, NOW Co-founder adds that “NOW_No Office Work immediately recognized the quality of this property, particularly regarding the restoration work and architectural project; and its location, of extreme strategic importance for the project. The fact that it was an old warehouse spread over three floors helped us in the segmentation of supply, namely a ground floor dedicated to all kinds of events; an intermediary for companies and startups; and finally, a top floor for freelancers, which also includes a cafeteria and a strategic partner, in the global entrepreneurship area - Startup Guide. This is a project that is now spread across three locations, with two spaces in Lisbon - NOW_Beato and NOW_Coworklisboa (the brand that launched this type of spaces in Portugal) - and one in Porto, NOW_Porto.”
